The Shimmer vision, Inspiring women to reflect the heart of God and releasing his radiance, beauty and power in our lives to change our world, was birthed in 2001, and stands strongly beside our Pittwater Uniting Church vision of Engage, Grow Go. In doing that we are committed to a holistic approach that includes:

• Our inner life (developing intimacy in our relationship with God) Ephesians 3:16,17
• Our body life (authentic relationships with each other) 1 Corinthians 12:12 ff
• Our global life (reaching out to others – evangelism/mission) Js 2:14, Matthew 25:40

As a team we have sought to plan and provide events and programs to uphold those aims, by responding to the needs of women in our church and the wider community. We begin our year with a weekend retreat at relaxing Merroo near Kurrajong in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. Then we enjoy special Shimmer events held throughout the year. Our overseas project, Esandleni Sothando, continues in partnership with Our Neighbours Ministry in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
